The tiny tree seed

This is a design for a double-page picture book spread for a children's book illustration course I'm doing. It depicts a tree seed which has flown through the air and is about to land in amongst the flowers. The brief was to keep it simple, using bold shapes against a white background.

Really good work, Sarah. It was only when I clicked on the picture itself to enlarge it that I appreciated the delicate variation of lines and colours. It's a very nice drawing.

I agree. Thought I'd have a look at your blog after you'd mentioned posting your life drawings, (which are great too), so well done on this! Onwards and up.

Best,

C.

I think it's pretty good. I really like the "deformed" butterfly's wings. Well done.

Got to agree with the general trist of comments here. I really, really like this. Nice use of pattern and colour, the sparseness and simplicity help to make the whole thing breathe. It's all beautifully and delicately rendered and feels full of life and freshness, hats off, well done.
